Prosegur Security USA, Inc. (“Prosegur USA,” “we,” or “us”), part of the Security Services business line of the Prosegur Group, provides a variety of services for preventing, detecting, and responding to security incidents in the business sector in the United States.  At Prosegur USA, we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it through our compliance with this Privacy Policy (hereinafter “Privacy Policy”).  This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and disclose personal information and explains the choices and rights individuals have regarding their personal information.

1. Data Collection

We collect personal information in several ways.  One way is directly from you.  If you contact us through email, text, or other electronic messaging, or fill out a form on our website, for example, you may provide your name and contact information. Another way in which we collect personal information is from someone else.  If you are an employee of one of our customers, for example, your employer may provide us with your contact information.  If you apply for a position with us, we may check your references. The third way in which we collect personal information, such as your computer’s IP address, is automatically through your interactions with our website.

2. Sale and Sharing of Personal Information

Prosegur USA does not sell or share your personal information and has not done so in the last twelve (12) months.  Prosegur USA does not share personal information for the purpose of cross-context behavioral advertising, targeted advertising, or similar uses, and has not done so in the last twelve (12) months.

3. Disclosure of Personal Information

Prosegur USA may disclose your personal information to third parties.  Here are details about the categories of personal information disclosed within the last twelve (12) months, the category of third party to whom this information was disclosed, and the purpose of the disclosure:

4. Data of Children

We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from individuals under sixteen (16) years of age and have not done so within the last twelve (12) months.  If we learn that we have collected Personal Information from someone under sixteen (16), we will take steps to delete the Personal Information.  Note that we may collect limited Personal Information about a child from an employee for the purpose of providing specific employee benefits.

5. Data Retention Periods

We retain your personal information (all categories unless mentioned below) as long as needed to fulfill the purposes for which we collected it and to meet our legal obligations. For our employees, for example, we retain personal information for five years after the end of employment.  For employees of our customers or suppliers we may retain contact information for the period of their employment.  We may also have similar information on documents such as invoices or contracts which we are required to keep for longer periods. We will not retain personal information for longer than is reasonably necessary for the purposes disclosed above.

We retain some personal information, such as security camera footage and IT logs, for brief periods determined primarily by availability of storage media and internal policies.

6. Your Rights

Depending on the circumstances related to the personal information we collect and where you are located or reside, you may have certain rights regarding the personal information we collect about you.  Below you may learn more about your privacy rights, how to exercise them, and what you may expect from that process.

A.   Rights

  • Right to know and access personal information:  You have the right to request that we disclose: (1) the categories of personal information we have collected about you; (2) the sources from which we collected the personal information; (3) the business or commercial purpose for the collection, selling or sharing of personal information; (4) the categories of third parties to whom we disclose personal information; (5) the categories of personal information that we sold or disclosed for a business purpose; and (6) the specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you. 
  • Right to opt-out:  You have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, the use of your personal information for targeted advertising, and the use of your personal information for profiling.  If you use an opt-out preference signal following the global privacy control (GPC) specification, we will process your opt-out preference in a frictionless manner at the device level using our cookie compliance tool.  You can set your browser to send these signals, but the specific settings that need to be configured depend on the specific browser you use.  Some browsers may require a browser extension.  To learn more about the GPC and browsers which support it, visit the global privacy control website, globalprivacycontrol.org.  If you have questions about opting out or need a different way to opt-out, please contact us.
  • Right to correct:  If you find that we have inaccurate personal information about you, you have the right to request that we correct that inaccurate personal information, taking into account the nature of the personal information and the purposes of processing the personal information. 
  • Right to delete:  You have the right to request that we delete your personal information.  There are some exceptions to this right. 
  • Right of data portability: You have the right to obtain a copy of your personal data in a portable and readily usable format that allows you to transmit the data to another controller without impediment.  There are some limits to this right.
  • Right to non-discrimination or retaliation:  We will not discriminate or retaliate against you for exercising your privacy rights. 

B.   Exercising Your Rights

If we decline your request, partially or fully, you may appeal the decision to our senior management.  Simply follow the same process for submitting a request and include “appeal” in the title or other part of the request.  If that appeal is denied, you may be able to contact your attorney general’s office, depending on the state in which you reside, to submit a complaint.

Prosegur USA does not use or disclose sensitive personal information for any purpose that would require a user to exercise a right to limit according to California law.

7. European Union and United Kingdom Residents

Please note that Prosegur Group has implemented Binding Corporate Rules which guarantee compliance with the requirements of GDPR in the event of international data transfers between the members of the Prosegur Group.
